The trick to gaining their input on marketing concerns is capturing them in a single locale and probing their ever-changing minds; it sounds far more pathological than it actually is. NRGen pulse checks, polls and contests are inventive, quirky and most importantly - fun. As a result, we don't receive standard answers. Polls labelled "Companies that suck" elicit what can most tamely be described as less-than-traditional responses. Our practices are inherently interactive - giving youth the option of moving away from the binary, zombie-like responses of yes/no to offer fuller and more elaborate expressions of bold ideas. Contests provide incentives for otherwise banal responses to become creative and elaborative remarks. Tapping into the youth market requires a strategic plan, created by people as savvy and "with it" as their desired responders.
